Consumption of timber board products from Norbord is set to increase at the Grangemouth factory of Carronvale Timber Frame, one of Scotland's leading timber frame manufacturers.
Carronvale, which supplies many major housebuilders and developers as well as its own residential development division, switched to Norbord products in 2006 and now takes delivery of more than 30,000 sheets annually of Norbord's Sterling OSB board for use in developments.
"Our main requirement is for 9mm and 15mm OSB3 which is used in wall sheathing, roof sarking board and flooring", said Carronvale Managing Director, Scott Gordon.
"Approximately 80% of our timber frame products are supplied to third-party customers and many are used in the construction of multi-occupancy, flatted developments, which is a growth sector in Scotland," explained Gordon.
The remaining 20% of Carronvale's output is consumed by Carronvale Homes which builds upmarket houses and apartment developments. The Norbord products are sold via IBT Merchants, in Grangemouth.
