A £5m project to replace the decks on the A30 Tolvaddon Bridge near Camborne, in the South West of England, which began in November 2007, will shortly enter its next phase. The replacement is necessary because of the deterioration of the concrete and reinforcing system on the current bridge.

In March, eastbound traffic on the A30 will be diverted on to a temporary bridge, and westbound traffic on to the eastbound bridge deck, whilst maintaining two lanes of traffic in each direction for the majority of the time.

Highways Agency Project Manager, Lynton Cocks, said: "The road system both on and beneath the A30 will be changing substantially over the next few weeks, and I would ask motorists to keep to the speed limit and exercise great care when driving through the works, to ensure the safety of both road users and the workers on site."
