Another Coach Chooses Stertil For Vehicle Lifts

Nefyn Coaches is the latest heavy vehicle operator to choose Stertil Koni for its vehicle lifting requirements.

The company, which runs buses and coaches in both Nefyn and Gwynfor livery across the UK, has had an in-ground lift installed in its new workshop.

With a new workshop facility planned, Nefyn had the opportunity to make a choice between using traditional pits to simplify vehicle inspection or to move to the safer and more flexible option of a vehicle lift.

Health and safety was a particular concern, as Nefyn's workshop also carries out MOTs and is therefore open to the public. The lift won hands-down, because of its greater health and safety benefits and the easier access it would offer to vehicles.

"The lift in our workshop is in use every day," explained Aled Owen of Nefyn Coaches, "So it needs to be durable, easy to operate and, above all, reliable. Other suppliers we had looked at wanted us to do a lot of the ground work ourselves, but Stertil provided us with a full service from initial enquiry right through to installation and after-sales support."

The Becker-twin ram in-ground lift installed by Stertil is perfect for narrow bays and allows unrestricted access underneath a raised vehicle. Being set into the ground means that the lift ensures a clean, unobstructed workshop floor area.

If necessary, this type of lift can be retrofitted into existing pits using a sealed cassette system. Lifts are supplied with two, three or four rams, one of which will be fixed and the others generally adjustable, depending on the axle spacing of the vehicles to be lifted. Every installation is tailored to meet each customer’s particular requirements.

Stertil Koni specialises in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of hydraulic vehicle lifts. The company is at the forefront of hydraulic lifting technology and was the first lifting system manufacturer to be awarded ISO 9001. Stertil Knoi uses its own factory-trained engineers and keeps stock for at least 25 years after production.
