The construction industry will not be able to attract the next generation of talented individuals unless industry leaders drastically change their approach, according to author Professor Richard Scase.

“Construction companies are managing, not leading," said Professor Scase, author of Global Remix: The Fight for Competitive Advantage. "They have based their management on 19th century old-style factory management, and the culture of senior management needs to change. The problems in construction lie at the top, not on site.
