The opening of a new leisure complex in Dumfries has been hit by a further delay.
The grand opening of the £16.5 million DG One complex has now been pushed back to 3 March 2008 – the third occasion the project has suffered such a delay.
Contractors Kier Northern are now scheduled to hand over the keys in February 2008.
The Chairman of the Leisure Complex sub committee, Councillor David McKie, said: "I am disappointed that the handover and completion date of DG One has been delayed further. We are however reassured that we have been given a definite handover date of Monday 11 February from Kier Northern.
"Dumfries and Galloway Council entered into a fixed price design and build contract with Kier Northern to build DG One and the contract allows the Council to seek damages for failure to meet the contract deadlines. Members have asked for a full report on the delays."
DG One was originally due to open in September 2007.
