Halcrow Appoints New Regional Director For Edinburgh

Halcrow has appointed Jamie Baxter as the new regional director for Edinburgh.

Based at the global multidisciplinary engineering consultancy’s office in Edinburgh’s New Town, Jamie Baxter is currently project director for the £45m joint venture development of the new West Lothian Civic Centre. Since joining Halcrow’s property business group in 2002, he has led multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of projects in sectors as diverse as land development, residential, commercial and schools (including PPP and PFI projects).

Prior to joining Halcrow, Jamie worked with TPS Consult and Thorburn Colquhoun (now URS) where he worked on the design and supervision of the redeveloped Scottish national rugby stadium, Murrayfield. Thanks to his extensive project work, Jamie is well-known in industry circles in the East of Scotland and from his tenure as Honorary Secretary of the East of Scotland branch of the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Neil Johnstone, regional managing director, UK North, said of Jamie’s appointment: “Jamie takes over from Ron Beard, who retired in August after 25 years service. Jamie is an excellent choice for the role as his knowledge of clients and his involvement in a plethora of multi-disciplinary projects will be of great value to Halcrow's business. He will continue as project director in the property business group, which fully supports his new appointment.”
