Leading national plumbing and heating supplier William Wilson is moving forward with plans for a roll out of its new Express business, with the launch of its first Scottish branch.
A new concept in plumbing and heating supply, the arrival of William Wilson Express north of the border comes on the back of a successful pilot project at three sites in Greater Manchester, which have recorded month-on-month growth since trading began in March.
Designed to provide trade and DIY customers with a simple, hassle free trading experience, William Wilson Express will be phased into locations across the UK over the coming months and highlights William Wilson’s continued growth.
The firm’s move to establish its first Scottish Express outlet in Glasgow follows the successful restructuring of its existing branch setup in the city, which was backed by a £1million investment programme.
Luisa Campbell, brand director for Aberdeen-headquartered William Wilson, said: "William Wilson Express was developed as a new business within less than a year and is built around a new, 1,500-item product range aimed at a wide range of general trade customers. It is an exciting development for us with the potential to open the door to a large, previously un-tapped market for Wolseley UK throughout the country.
"Our revised Glasgow branch structure has allowed us to open William Wilson Express’ first Scottish outlet at our premises at Hillington, adjacent to our busy bathroom showroom, and we hope that it will enjoy similar success to the pilot operation in Greater Manchester."
William Wilson employs more than 65 staff at its outlets at Whiteinch, Kinning Park and Hillington in Glasgow, as well as a warehouse facility at Cumbernauld.
