To help reduce carbon emissions and maintain energy within a house, Schiedel chimney systems are now available with a built-in flue damper.

The damper can be closed when the fire is not in use avoiding heat loss and helping maintain energy within the house. The amount of CO2 in the SAP rating is halved from 40 cubic metres of air passing up the chimney every hour down to 20 using a damper, even with the larger diameter flues.
