Scottish house builders will benefit from a high profile national campaign to promote excellence in the profession with the launch of a new independent awards programme.
The Scottish Home Awards, sponsored by the Dunfermline Building Society, will highlight the quality and diversity of new housing being created across Scotland helping buyers to make considered choices when it comes to buying a quality new build home.
From starter homes for first time buyers, to chic waterside apartments, clever conversions to developments boasting the best green credentials, all will be eligible for entry. There are 11 categories eligible for entry with the ultimate award of the programme for Housebuilder of the Year being awarded at the judges’ discretion.
Peter Weanie, Director, Dunfermline Building Society commented: "Quality homes provision is vital in creating and sustaining happy and healthy communities. The Scottish Home Awards will showcase quality and high standards in housing by presenting an independent and credible badge of merit that will signify and promote excellence within the industry.
"It is an exciting and challenging time for the housebuilding industry. The Scottish Government has warned that around 270,000 new homes in the next ten years to meet growing demand. However new regulations will demand that homes meet even higher performance and regulatory standards. Against this backdrop it is an appropriate time to showcase the best new build properties emerging today."
