Flygt Packaged Pumping Station Is Key To Quayside Expansion

A packaged pumping station from ITT Flygt is playing a key role at a quayside expansion scheme on the Isle of Wight.

The two-pump Compit unit has been installed as part of a South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) project to extend facilities for business based at Venture Quays.

Complete with a special access cover, the unit will be used as part of a boat wash down slab, and Flygt specified its DF3057 submersible vortex pumps because of their ability to handle the grit and sludge associated with washing down boats.

The dual Compit arrangement provides duty and standby pumps for high availability and easy maintenance, without the need to construct a special chamber.

Pre-fabricated Flygt packaged pumping stations are supplied complete with all necessary equipment, making them ideal for use in such projects.
