Timbnet Eco-Friendly Passive Doors And Window Components

In response to the rapidly increasing demand for super eco-friendly Passive Houses, Timbmet is the first company in the UK to launch Passive components for windows and Passive door panels.

The new product range reinforces Timbmet as the market leader in its commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible business solutions. When installed within a Passive House the window components and doors can reduce energy consumption to just 10 per cent of that used within the average home.

Recent legislation has heralded a fresh era in the energy efficiency of new houses, with all new build homes required to be carbon zero by 2016. The 2007 Budget also announced that newly-built carbon neutral homes, such as Passive Houses (worth under £500,000) will be exempt from stamp duty, providing a further incentive for developers. Ideal for architects, specifiers and joiners, Timbmet’s Passive window components are specially designed, made-to-order and exceptionally well insulated. Timbmet’s Passive solution combines the natural insulating properties of timber with the complexity of TEC engineering and, depending on the requirement, a combination of additional materials such as Puranite, cork and PU foam. Both the window components and Timbmet’s off-the-shelf Passive door panels meet the 0.8 U-value required in the new regulations.
