The National House-Building Council (NHBC) has developed a new course, "CDM Awareness", to examine the roles and responsibilities of dutyholders under the new Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.

These regulations, introduced in April this year, affect every aspect of health and safety on site, for every role in the industry. This includes clients, designers, developers, and contractors as well as those in technical roles.

NHBC's Health and Safety Manager, Simon Mantle, said: "In order to ensure compliance with the regulations it is essential that everyone involved understands their responsibilities and how each role inter-relates with every other role."
