As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, Lawcris Panel Products has pledged to support the fundraising efforts its team member, Mick Halton, who will be heading Stateside this October to take part in the world renowned Death Valley Cycle Challenge.
Mick will be cycling across Death Valley on a grueling five day mission to raise £5,000 for Wakefield Hospice – a Yorkshire based hospice which provides specialist palliative care for people with life threatening illnesses.
Commenting on Mick’s decision to take part in the fundraising initiative, Lawcris’ Marketing Manager Hal Eccles said: “We fully support Mick’s commitment to this challenge, 2007 marks 25 years in business for Lawcris and throughout the year we have pledged to support a number of our employees in various fundraising initiatives.”
Helen Knowles, Director of Fundraising for Wakefield Hospice said: “I am delighted that Mick is joining myself and ten others to undertake such a major physical and mental challenge. Wakefield Hospice provides vital care and support to patients and their families throughout Wakefield and the surrounding areas and this year we have to raise approximately £2.5 million to maintain this level of service.
It is anticipated that this group of intrepid fundraisers will generate a net income of £40,000 for Wakefield Hospice.
