One of the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of low density thermal insulation materials is to establish a new manufacturing site at Eurocentral business park in Lanarkshire.

American owned Calcarb Limited purchased the 5.35 acre site from SE Lanarkshire and will construct a 70,000 sq ft manufacturing and office facility on site. Construction is due to be completed later this year.

This site on the burgeoning mixed use business park will replace Calcarb’s current headquarters on North Road, Bellshill. All staff are being relocated and there is expansion planned which is expected to create new jobs.

Hugh McLeod, Managing Director of Calcarb Ltd, said: "Our growing business has called for a significant reinvestment in a larger site which can offer us the profile and transport links that we require, which is why Eurocentral is an ideal location."

Morag Lyons, Eurocentral’s marketing executive commented: "This sale to Calcarb adds to the manufacturing presence at Eurocentral and highlights the park’s continued growth and wide appeal."

American owned, Calcarb has been established in Scotland for over 20 years, its customers are primarily in the aerospace, semiconductor, solar and vacuum heat treat sectors.
