NHBC is re-running its highly successful Alternative Remediation Techniques course to help builders identify potentially cost-effective alternatives to dig and dump.

This one-day course is run in conjunction with remediation experts and is designed to familiarise housebuilders with a variety of remediation methods.

With limited availability of landfill sites, and limits on those accepting hazardous waste, landfill costs are increasing so it is vital that builders are aware of the alternatives.

NHBC's Training Services Manager Rob Lockey said: "This NHBC course is ideal for those needing to know the key issues surrounding alternative types of land remediation. The course is based around a case study so it will really put the key issues at each stage of brownfield land re-development into context."
