The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) North Wales Branch recently announced it is launching a Construction Specialist Group with the aim of providing a forum for members and others engaged in or with interests in the construction industry.
The Group will allow the opportunity to exchange opinions on professional developments, ideas and experiences and would include discussion groups, seminars and site visits.
Sandy Jennings of the North Wales branch said: "Last year’s construction industry accident statistics showing fatalities up by 40% year on year, and the current year showing similar trends, needs to be addressed. While the figures for North Wales are not as dramatic, any fatality or serious injury is a failure for our profession."
The Construction Specialist Group's inaugural meeting will be on Tuesday 11 September at 7pm at Mountain Park Hotel in Flint.
