Scafftag has launched a pocket memo for ladders and podiums that provides easy to assimilate safety and maintenance information checklists for reference both before and during use.
The pocket memo contains inspection checklist for ladders on one side and podiums on the other. The user can quickly refer to the relevant checklist to make sure that they are approaching their work safely and methodically.
The Work at Height Regulations 2005 apply to all work at height where there is a risk of a fall liable to cause personal injury. A common misconception is that low-level height work (such as that a ladder or podium would be needed for) does not represent a potential hazard. However, whether it is conventional ladders, step ladders, kick stools (‘elephant’s feet’) or podiums and whether for temporary or fixed access, regular detailed inspections must be carried out and recorded.
Scafftag’s visual status tagging systems further reinforce the message that equipment needs to be regularly maintained and that it must be certified as such before being used.
As well as the pocket memos there is also a ladder inspection guide poster available from Scafftag that can be displayed on site to further remind of key ladder legislation, components and inspection checks.
The use of all these systems together, reinforces messages at the point of use about how equipment should be used correctly, this helps positively shape behaviour and attitudes.
