Following the huge success of the Cold Fusion Bonded Built-Up Roofing and Inverted Roofing Systems, Liquid Plastics have now launched their new Green Roof Systems.
Liquid Plastics recognise the substantial growth of the Green Roof Market and the many economic and environmental benefits associated with Green Roofs, some of which include aiding noise reduction, increasing the thermal performance of a building, improving aesthetics and absorbing CO2.
Liquid Plastics’ new Extensive and Intensive Green Roof Systems include the completely seamless and cold applied Decothane EC Root Resistant (RR) Grade Waterproofing System. This is reinforced with glass fibre matting and once cured, a topcoat of Decothane EC RR ensures complete seamless waterproofing protection, which is guaranteed for 25 years. Following this an Extensive or Intensive Green
Roof build-up is installed by our specialist Green Roof Partner, Greenfix Ltd.
Extensive Green Roof Systems are an ideal solution to provide an aesthetic, low maintenance ecological feature, which can be admired from surrounding buildings.
Due to a relatively shallow and lightweight growing medium they are ideal for use over most structures including pitched roofs and generally use a pre-grown sedum blanket. Extensive Brown Roofs recycle existing brown site materials such as
crushed brick, and help to create biodiversity for local plant and animal species.
Dusty Gedge, founder of Livingroofs.org, presented the importance of Green and Brown Roofs at Liquid Plastics’ Press Launch held at Blenheim Palace. Dusty stressed the important role that Green Roofs have on the environment. He said: “They play a positive part in climate change, adaptability and they help to deliver local, regional and national biodiversity action plans.”
