Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council’s tenants have been packing out the two show homes set up to demonstrate the standard of homes they can expect to live in if they vote yes to the transfer of their homes to a new not-for-profit landlord.
Hundreds of tenants and their families from across the Borough have visited the show homes at 2 Oliver Place, Wooler and 29 Prior Road, Tweedmouth since they opened last month.
Tenant Debra Jerdan, from Eastcliffe said: “We have been delighted at the response and it shows that tenants are really thinking carefully about the transfer. Now that the school holidays have started I would encourage those tenants who haven’t already paid us a visit to come along and see for themselves.”
The show homes are open Tuesdays 1pm to 5pm, Wednesdays 10am to 1pm, Thursday 1pm to 7.30pm and Sundays 10am to 4pm.
A transfer roadshow is currently touring the Borough – more details can be found on the Council’s website or by calling the Council free on 0800 298 8869.
