Alison Wellman at the West Suffolk College wins best professional student of the year award.

Mandy Rix, Centre Administrator for the Suffolk Centre presented a cheque for £100 to Alison at the Annual Prize Giving Ceremony held at St Edmundsbury Cathedral on June 25 2007.

Alison completed her Higher National Diploma in Construction in which she achieved Distinction grades.


Alison has worked for Forest Heath District Council for 19 years since completing her schooling in Suffolk. She started at Forest Heath as an Administrative Co-ordinator in the Property Services Department.

She enrolled on the course to help her career progression within Forest Heath District Council. This she has successfully done, becoming a Property Surveyor with responsibilities for repairs and new works over much of the Council’s property portfolio, including leisure centres, car parks and public amenities.
