STG Awarded £2M Shipley Retail & Residential Contract

Cumbernauld-based Strategic Team Group, one of the UK's fastest growing suppliers of building and property solutions, has been awarded a contract worth in excess of £2 million to undertake a state of the art mixed use retail and residential scheme.

The project will involve the construction of a mixed use residential property which will address modern work-life balance issues by delivering a combination of retail and residential units. The ground floor will be constructed to a shell finish of 7625 sq ft and will form two retail units. Complementing this, the first, second and third floors will house 20 self contained apartments.

Based at Otley Road, Shipley, the site is expected to take up to twelve months to develop and works are scheduled to be undertaken in two six month stages. As the main contractor, STG will provide all services including project management, design, build, plumbing, electrical and interior design.

STG has been contracted by Crowther Associates on behalf of The Ogden Waller Group. Andrew Crowther, MD of Crowther Associates, commented: “It is exciting to be involved in a project so in touch with the current climate in terms of how work-life balances are changing and what people now expect from both retail and residential properties.

“We have worked alongside STG previously and feel confident that the company's experience and expertise will assist in making this project a great success.”

Charles Tweed, Business Development Director at STG, said: “We are delighted to have won this prestigious new contract and are looking forward to the challenges ahead. Our ability to deliver complete property solutions makes us an idea candidate as we can deliver 'wrap around' services and care to our customers.”

Strategic Team Group (Strategic Team Maintenance Ltd) is one of the UK's fastest growing suppliers of building property services. Since its inception in 2000, the company has developed a culture and a reputation for delivering service excellence and a sound customer base.

Strategic Team Group now has a turnover of circa £20 million, employing over 120 employees and boasting a strong financial position.

In 2006 STG was awarded three National Business Awards in the Regional Finals, representing a first for any competing organisation.

STG was also recognised by Fast Track 100 as the UK's 63rd fastest growing private company and was selected as a finalist in Contract Journal's Best Company to Work For Awards and the Growing Business Awards.
