Knight Frank has been appointed to design and project manage the construction of a new £6 million Headquarters facility for Hydril UK Ltd, at Altens East Industrial Estate in Aberdeen.
Knight Frank’s Building Consultancy department in Aberdeen submitted a detailed planning application to Aberdeen City Council on 1 March 2007, to construct a new build 11,000 sq ft office and a 49,000 sq ft workshop/warehouse on an 8.3 acre site at Altens East Aberdeen on behalf of Hydril UK.
The surrounding site of the office and warehouse will be used as a pipe storage yard for Hydril UK’s primary business of threading premium connections for casing, tubing and drill pipe used in oil and gas wells. This new development will see Hydril relocate its existing facilities (also within Altens) to the new site allowing its manufacturing processes to be streamlined and production output increased.
Knight Frank will be providing a turnkey professional service to Hydril UK and will be directly involved in the architectural design, project management and planning supervisor services.
Doug Garden, Partner at Knight Frank, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to design and develop an office and warehouse facility for Hydril, which has had a base in Aberdeen for many years. With work expanding and their existing facility becoming stretched, Hydril needed more space to continue progressing their business. This new HQ facility at Altens East will provide them with fantastic space from which to operate and grow the business.”
Work is scheduled to commence in the Autumn of this year with a projected completion date of August 2008.
