Cameron Hall Homes has secured planning permission for a further 135 homes at Stoney Wood, its flagship residential development on the Wynyard Estate.
Construction of the second phase is expected to begin in August 2027, with the new collection of three, four and five-bedroom homes scheduled to launch to the market in autumn 2027.
The approved second phase will include 135 plots, with 81 homes being developed and sold by Cameron Hall Homes. A further 54 plots have been acquired by Banks Homes, another established regional housebuilder, through an agreement that strengthens the long-standing relationship between the founders of the two businesses.
The partnership reflects the shared history of Harry Banks, founder of the Banks Group, and Sir John Hall, founder of Cameron Hall Developments. The collaboration comes as both businesses celebrate their 50th anniversaries in 2026, marking five decades of delivering high-quality housing and developments across the North East.
Commenting on the agreement with Banks Homes, Mark Antonopoulos, Managing Director at Cameron Hall Developments, said: "We are delighted that Banks Homes has secured a deal to acquire 54 units from Cameron Hall Developments at Stoney Wood. It is a strong endorsement of the location, the quality of the wider masterplan and the continued demand for high-quality family housing on the Wynyard Estate.”
"Banks Homes is a respected regional housebuilder with deep roots in the North East, and we are pleased to be working alongside them on the next stage of this important development."
The second phase will follow the first 76 homes at Stoney Wood, which are now 45% sold. Like the initial collection, the new homes will be built to a high specification with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency.
Each property is expected to achieve an EPC A rating and will be gas-free, designed to require minimal energy for heating, lighting and hot water. The development is also among the first in the North East to be built in line with Part L 2025 standards, supporting improved fuel and power conservation while helping homeowners benefit from lower running costs.
Ahead of the second phase launch, Cameron Hall Homes is preparing to open a newly refurbished show home in April for prospective buyers. The Yeavering Plus is a four-bedroom detached property featuring an orangery, double detached garage and private driveway.
The home includes an open-plan kitchen, dining and family area at the rear of the ground floor, with bi-fold doors opening onto a patio and private garden. A glass lantern roof completes the orangery, creating a bright space designed for entertaining and family living.
Additional ground-floor accommodation includes a living room, snug and utility room, while the first floor provides four spacious double bedrooms designed for flexible family use.
Future residents at Stoney Wood will also benefit from a new community hub, due to open later this year. The facility will include a café, veterinary surgery, medical practice, independent artisan shops and a village hall for classes, events and community groups. It will also provide dedicated parking, electric vehicle charging points and a bistro-style terrace overlooking the surrounding landscape.
Located within the countryside setting of the Wynyard Estate, Stoney Wood provides access to local amenities including cafés, restaurants and The Glasshouse, which is around a 25-minute walk from the development. Wynyard Golf Club is nearby, while Wynyard Hall Spa is approximately a 35-minute walk away and is currently closed ahead of a planned multi-million-pound renovation.
