Pembrokeshire County Council and Persimmon Homes have handed over the first three two-bedroom properties at the mixed-tenure Ger y Môr development in Saundersfoot, marking a key step in a project that will provide 21 social homes, with further completions expected in the coming weeks.

The wider scheme will deliver a range of high-quality social housing, from one-bedroom flats to three-bedroom houses. Developed in partnership with Persimmon Homes, the programme aims to address a broad spectrum of local need.

Affordable homes are being integrated alongside private properties, with a consistent design and finish across the site to create a balanced, inclusive neighbourhood. This approach is intended to support social integration and foster a strong sense of belonging.

A Local Lettings Policy, shaped with input from the local community, prioritises applicants with strong ties to the area. This is designed to help residents stay within, or return to, the communities where they have longstanding connections.

By targeting identified housing need in a coastal setting, the Council said the development will bolster the sustainability of local communities and improve access to suitable homes for residents.
