Equans has secured a new contract with Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council to install mobility aids and home adaptations that will help residents with disabilities, health conditions or reduced mobility live more independently.
The agreement will see approximately 2,500 privately owned and rented properties improved, building on a 20-year partnership in which more than 25,000 homes have already been upgraded.
Works will include adapted bathrooms and level-access showers, new flooring, grab rails and associated repairs.
Jake Fellows, Regional Managing Director, Equans UK & Ireland, said: "We have seen first-hand how small home modifications can be life altering, enabling residents to live safely and more independently in their own homes.
"As a long-standing partner of Dudley MBC, we have built solid relationships with its tenants and customers over the years and are really pleased to continue building on those foundations with this latest contract."
Michael Brereton, Director for Development and Regulation at Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, said: "We are pleased to be working with Equans to provide more aids and adaptations to our residents who are most in need.
"This will help more than 2,500 households and will support many people to stay in their own homes."
Delivery will take place over the next four years across properties in the borough.
