Lantra, the awarding body for the land-based and environmental sector across the UK and Republic of Ireland, has completed a major £1 million refurbishment of its Warwickshire headquarters as the organisation celebrates its 60th anniversary and launches a new five-year strategic plan.
The 13,500 sq ft transformation at Stoneleigh Park marks a pivotal milestone for the registered charity, aligning its physical workplace with its future corporate ambitions.
Ashby-based workplace consultancy Blueprint Interiors was appointed to redesign the 1980s office building, replacing an outdated layout that restricted inter-departmental collaboration and impacted staff morale. In its place, Blueprint has delivered an open-plan environment featuring a range of flexible spaces engineered to encourage communication, improve operational functionality, and support employee wellbeing.
To accommodate Lantra's evolving corporate culture, the project introduced dedicated breakout areas for informal meetings, social connection, and downtime. Additionally, the ground floor was opened up to establish a large social work café, creating a versatile venue capable of hosting company town halls, group gatherings, and external visitors.
The Lantra workforce was directly involved in shaping the project through internal surveys, a dedicated design council, and cross-organisation engagement, ensuring the final layout reflects practical working patterns.
Sustainability formed a core focus of the specification, with upgrades including:
• Energy Efficiency: Installation of new double glazing, solar panels, and a high-efficiency electric climate system to improve comfort and reduce reliance on traditional energy systems.
• Eco-Friendly Infrastructure: Integration of electric vehicle (EV) charging points and water-efficient systems throughout the facility.
• Sustainable Materials: Utilisation of UK-sourced timber and newly selected materials prioritised for their recyclability.
• Waste Reduction: Existing furniture was either reused within the new layout or donated to local causes where possible to minimise environmental impact.
David Cooke, Director of Finance and Operations at Lantra, commented: "From the outset, Blueprint challenged our thinking and helped us rethink what the space needed to deliver. The process was clear, collaborative and enjoyable from concept through to completion.
"As we reached the incredible milestone of 60 years, it felt like the perfect time to create a workplace that truly works for our team, one that supports efficiency but is also a more enjoyable place to be. We're already seeing the benefits, with more natural, informal interaction happening every day. This new workplace reflects how Lantra is evolving."
Chloe Sproston, Creative Director at Blueprint Interiors, added: "This has been a fantastic journey with the Lantra team. Through detailed consultation, we shaped a workspace around real people and real working patterns, while ensuring long-term flexibility as the organisation grows. The result is a future-ready workplace that can adapt over time and truly reflects Lantra's culture and ambition."
