Autopilot: A critical step towards faster, accurate and data-driven decision-making

The real-time, actionable scheduling and risk insights Nodes & Links is known for; now automatically sent straight to the key project decision-makers and planners via its latest revolutionary update – Autopilot.

On large-scale construction projects, the critical analysis required to make the most impactful decisions is complex and historically dependent on a small number of experts. As a result, decisions can be based around ineffective intelligence or even made too late.

Building on its decision-intelligence platform, Autopilot ensures these essential insights are already available when project teams and planners need them – not after the vital window in which to act has closed.

While AI Mode knows which workflows to run and in what order, and provides the critical information conversationally as if a planner were talking directly to a senior project controls expert, Autopilot takes that another step further.

Effortlessly operating on the same verified, 'real-world' information, it automates those workflows on triggers – whether that's a schedule change, a weekly team meeting or a threshold breach.

In the process, Nodes & Links' AI will provide information grounded in how project teams manage projects, identifying potential risks and scheduling conflicts in advance and delivering trusted recommendations to ensure proactive decision-making, streamlined project management and expedited delivery.

Trust is the backbone of effective decision-making. Planners and schedulers need to know the information they are accessing is precise and reliable. Nodes & Links' AI platform is built on years of research and development in data science models that are purpose-built for project controls and planning on large-scale, complex construction and infrastructure projects.

It is vertical AI built specifically for the construction industry; not just general-purpose AI adapted for this particular use.

Dr Christos Ellinas, Chief Technological Officer and co-founder at Nodes & Links, highlighted the important role AI is playing in simplifying complexity in construction projects. He said: "For many years, our tools have provided schedulers, project managers and planners with not just a system or record but a system of intelligence. Autopilot takes that another step further.

"Working cohesively with Nodes & Links' project controls foundations, Autopilot will produce reports whenever certain specifications or new data changes occur. This ensures all project stakeholders have the actionable scheduling and risk insights they need, whenever they need them."

Greg Lawton, CEO of Nodes & Links emphasised the critical need to embrace AI technology to expedite project delivery and the necessary close working relationship between AI and those in the built environment. He said: "This is another crucial step towards a faster, more accurate and data-driven way of managing and scheduling construction projects. Agentic AI, such as AI Mode and Autopilot, doesn't wait to be asked; it thinks, plans and acts on its own to provide schedulers and planners with the critical schedule intelligence they need to drive safer, more profitable and more efficient projects.

"Utilising this technology isn't about replacing industry professionals. It's about empowering their decision-making by providing them with trustworthy data that's based on verified, accurate and applicable project information."
