Caddick Construction has completed and handed over the new Moya Cole Hospice in Heald Green, raising £95,000 to support the charity during the build.

Formerly St Ann's Hospice, the organisation can now enhance inpatient and outpatient services and bereavement support for people affected by life‑limiting illnesses across Greater Manchester.

Set within the Cheadle Royal conservation area, the £27m development comprises two buildings linked by a corridor, with a modernised 27‑bed inpatient unit. Photovoltaic panels have been installed to help reduce energy use and costs.

The scheme also includes dedicated bereavement and family support areas, a Being You centre for outpatient services, family overnight accommodation, a cafe, and offices and training facilities.

Funded by Moya Cole Hospice, named in memory of founder Dr Moya Cole OBE, the project was supported by significant community generosity. More than £2m was donated through the Build It Together appeal.

Caddick supported the appeal alongside construction, with its North West team raising £95,000 through a series of activities.

Fundraising efforts featured a charity golf day, a 220‑mile cycle ride from Llandudno to Cardiff, and a climb up Snowdon involving colleagues, clients and supply chain partners. Christmas Jumper Day 2025 was also marked across the region's offices and project sites to bolster donations.

Rachel McMillan, Chief Executive of Moya Cole Hospice, said: "Throughout the project, Caddick has demonstrated a professional and collaborative approach to delivering the building. They have helped us bring a long‑held plan to completion, and we appreciate the part they have played, alongside the valuable contribution of our architects, PRP.

"We would also like to recognise the work of Genr8 Developments LLP as project managers and all the valuable work from a huge number of individuals, suppliers, agencies and specialist consultants who have made this possible.

"Now that the site has been handed over, we are preparing the hospice to welcome our first patients and their loved ones very soon."
