Award-winning construction and fit-out contractor Gilbert-Ash has been recognised as one of the UK’s best employers for the second year running.

The company has earned a place on this year's Sunday Times Best Places to Work list and was also highly commended in the 55+ category.

The nationwide survey celebrates standout employers across sectors. Results are based on staff responses to questions created by behavioural scientists, data analysts, psychologists, business leaders and academics, measuring employee engagement, wellbeing and discretionary effort.

Gilbert-Ash achieved a strong overall engagement score across a six-part framework that assesses reward and recognition, pride, information sharing, empowerment, wellbeing and job satisfaction.

The findings show that 92% of employees are proud to work for the firm, while 90% would recommend Gilbert-Ash as an employer to family and friends.

The company's work has been shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize five times, including the National Portrait Gallery in 2024, the Lyric Theatre in 2012, the Giant's Causeway Visitor Centre in 2013 and Cambridge Central Mosque in 2021, while the Everyman Theatre won the prestigious award in 2014.

Current projects include a new tech campus in Bristol, a sports facility at Eton College in Windsor, and major refurbishment works at Tate Liverpool.
