GRAHAM Opens New Cumbria Office To Support Regional Growth

Construction News Image

GRAHAM has opened a new office in Cumbria as it grows its presence in the North of England.

The workspace at the Phoenix Enterprise Centre in Cleator Moor will be shared by the contractor's Civil Engineering and Building divisions, creating a local hub for teams delivering projects across the region.

The move is designed to strengthen support for high-quality nuclear infrastructure schemes in the North West. It also increases operational capacity for the Civil Engineering division, underlining GRAHAM's commitment to essential infrastructure across North and Central England. The Building division, which operates nationally and is active on several schemes in the North, will also use the site.

Alastair Lewis, Contracts Director at GRAHAM, will lead the Cumbria team. He said: "With 15 years of experience delivering nuclear and defence projects in Cumbria, GRAHAM is well established and has developed the expertise needed to support this growing market. The office allows us to provide a better working and meeting space, which will support our current projects and work-winning functions.

"Establishing a presence here was a natural next step for us. We're already working in the area, and this move allows us to have boots on the ground, creating local jobs for local people. It ensures we're well-positioned to deliver the infrastructure and building projects that these communities genuinely need."

The opening follows a series of recent project wins in the region, including GRAHAM's appointment to deliver infrastructure works at the Low Level Waste Repository site in Drigg, where the team is expected to be on site until summer 2029.

Employees, clients and local stakeholders joined the national contractor to mark the launch and discuss Cumbria's important role in the UK's infrastructure plans.
