Groundforce Shorco's latest innovation, the SheetMaster 2.0, has been named a finalist for a major national industry award shortly after its official release.
The excavation support specialist launched the product earlier this month to mark the 10-year anniversary of its original trench sheet handling system. The new equipment has secured a spot on the shortlist for Specialist Construction Product of the Year at the prestigious Construction News (CN) Specialists Awards 2026.
Adding to the company's success, Groundforce has also been shortlisted in the Equipment Supplier of the Year category at the same event. The winners will be announced during an awards ceremony at The London Hilton on 3 September 2026.
The SheetMaster 2.0 has a safe working load (SWL) of 10 tonnes and is engineered to reduce the number of handling accessories required on construction sites. As a multi-function sheet handling and installation attachment, it replaces multiple tools regularly used on-site.
Key features and benefits of the system include:
• Ratchet release mechanism: An innovative design feature developed to eliminate the risk of accidental sheet release.
• Integrated functionality: Negates the need for traditional quick-release shackles.
• Versatile handling: Used to lift sheets into a vertical position for precise placement.
• Built-in protection and extraction: Features a driving cap to protect sheets from structural damage during installation, alongside an extractor function to pull sheets safely out of the ground.
The system requires no formal training for site personnel, as the operation remains highly familiar to machinery operators accustomed to standard quick-release shackles and driving caps.
