Construction Milestone In Worksop Family Contact Centre Development

Construction News Image

Construction of a new purpose-built family contact centre in Worksop has reached a significant milestone with the completion of its roof structure. The facility, named Harmony House, is being delivered by Midlands contractor G F Tomlinson for Arc Partnership on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council.

Designed and project-managed by Arc Partnership—a joint venture between the County Council and SCAPE—the centre is set to replace outdated accommodation when it opens this summer. It will provide a safe, modern environment for supervised family time, safeguarding services, and support for the county's most vulnerable children and young people.

The single-storey building features a range of modern amenities, including:

• Supervised family time spaces

• Conference and meeting rooms

• Kitchen facilities

• Dedicated safeguarding areas

Sustainability is a core focus of the development. The centre is built with high-performance fabric to reduce energy demand and includes photovoltaic panels alongside fully electric heating and cooling systems to ensure long-term, cost-efficient operation.

The project is part of Nottinghamshire County Council's broader investment strategy to modernise public service buildings and better serve the needs of local communities.

Andy Sewards, Group Chairman at G F Tomlinson, said: "We are proud to be working alongside Arc Partnership and Nottinghamshire County Council on this vital project that will positively impact the lives of local families. The new facility will not only provide a safe, secure, and comfortable space for children and families, but it's also being constructed with energy-efficiency and long-term sustainability in mind.

"As a local regional contractor, we are equally pleased to be providing social value initiatives on the scheme for the community and employment and apprenticeship opportunities for young people."

Dan Maher, Managing Director at Arc Partnership, added: "We are proud to be delivering this vital new facility on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council. Our approach has focused on designing a comfortable, welcoming environment for children and families, while ensuring strong value for the county council."
