Former Rolls-Royce East Kilbride Site Available For Redevelopment

Construction News Image

Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has brought the former Rolls-Royce site in East Kilbride to market, highlighting a major opportunity for redevelopment suited to residential or commercial projects.

Situated around 10 miles south-east of Glasgow city centre, East Kilbride is one of Scotland's largest towns and benefits from a substantial population catchment, enhancing its appeal for future development.

The town is well connected to Scotland's strategic road network, with direct access to the M74 and wider national motorways. The East Kilbride Expressway provides swift links to both the M74 and M77, improving accessibility for commuters, logistics and commercial occupiers.

The site occupies a prominent position on the northern edge of the established Nerston Industrial Estate and sits close to established residential neighbourhoods, employment centres and retail amenities serving Greater Glasgow.

Extending to 10.5 acres, the broadly regular and relatively level plot offers considerable flexibility. It fronts Law Place to the north, with housing immediately to the east and established industrial premises to the south and west, creating a well-connected mixed-use setting suitable for a range of future uses.

Adam Honeyman, partner at Shepherd, said: "The site is currently zoned for redevelopment within Use Classes 5 and 6, covering general industrial and storage and distribution uses, although it may also be suitable for residential redevelopment, subject to securing the appropriate planning consents.

"Given the site's strategic location, strong transport connectivity and proximity to a large residential population, we anticipate significant interest from developers and owner-occupiers alike.

"We are seeking unconditional bids from interested parties, with preference given to offers that can demonstrate immediate availability of funds from cash reserves."

Interested parties should contact the sole selling agent on 0141 331 2807. For further information, contact Adam Honeyman on 0141 331 2807.
