Winvic to Launch Net Zero Whitepaper at UKREiiF

Winvic Construction Ltd has announced its return to the UKREiiF real estate event next month, marking its 25th year in business with the launch of a major ESG whitepaper. The document, spearheaded by Winvic as part of its role on the advisory board of The Westminster Policy Liaison Group (PLG) on ESG, calls for government intervention to fast-track net zero progress across the built environment.

The whitepaper positions the UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard (UKNZCBS) as the essential framework for delivering carbon-neutral assets. It incorporates insights from a wide array of industry experts and bodies, including the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC), RICS, BRE, and CIOB, as well as developers such as Panattoni and Firethorn Trust. The paper provides targeted recommendations intended to inform future policy and encourage large-scale adoption of sustainable standards.

To facilitate industry dialogue, Winvic will host an expanded 'Winvic and Partners Pavilion' alongside Ridge, UMC Architects, Maber, and M1 Agency. The pavilion will feature a comprehensive programme of panel discussions, including a session on the whitepaper findings featuring Mike Reader MP, Chair of the APPGs on the Built Environment and Infrastructure. Other scheduled topics include planning reform, the viability of data centres, and build-to-rent developments.

Throughout the three-day event, Winvic will also support its local charity partner, Leeds Children's Charity. The pavilion will further host sessions from organisations such as Prologis and Fusion21, highlighting the company's collaborative industry approach.

Danny Nelson, Managing Director - Industrial, Logistics & Data Centres at Winvic, commented: "Over the past 25 years, Winvic has evolved in step with the industry, from a regional contractor rooted in Industrial & Logistics to a trusted national delivery partner across Industrial & Logistics, Multi-Room, Civils & Infrastructure and now Data Centres. That journey reflects a business responding to change while maintaining a disciplined approach to delivery. It's particularly meaningful to be at UKREiiF during our 25th year, sharing this milestone with partners and peers. This whitepaper is an important step in bringing together industry insight to help shape the policy and regulatory environment needed to deliver net zero at scale. Strong, collaborative partnerships are key to solving the sector's most complex challenges."

Arun Thaneja, Technical Services and Sustainability Director at Winvic, added: "We're proud to share a whitepaper that sets out a clear call to action for regulatory backing of the standard. Drawing on insights from across the industry, it provides practical recommendations for policymakers, highlighting where greater clarity and alignment can accelerate adoption of the UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard. Our focus is on ensuring ESG strategy translates into real outcomes on projects and across communities, helping to underpin the next phase of progress across the built environment. I look forward to sharing this at UKREiiF."

Winvic, often recognised as a specialist in the industrial sector, recently reached the milestone of constructing 110 million sq ft of industrial space. The firm's portfolio also includes the delivery of over 15,000 beds in the multi-room sector, six rail freight terminals, and 125km of highways.
