Wates Group has announced the permanent appointment of George Mosey as Managing Director (MD) for Construction London.
Mosey originally joined the Wates team in March 2025 as UK Operations Director, where he was tasked with advancing quality, safety, sustainability, and general operational performance. Bringing over 17 years of experience from various senior industry positions, he stepped into the role of MD for the London region on an interim basis at the end of February.
Since taking the interim lead, Mosey has been credited with providing stability and clarity for the London Construction team. In his permanent capacity, he will oversee the business strategy and operations for the capital, with a primary objective of ensuring performance excellence leads to positive results for customers. This role will see him continue to spearhead the continuous improvement programme he established within the division in 2025.
Steff Battle, Executive Managing Director at Wates Construction, commented: "Since stepping into the role on an interim basis, George has brought strong leadership and a clear sense of direction for the Construction London team. His ability to build momentum has been evident, and I am delighted to confirm his appointment on a permanent basis and to see his energy and focus continue to drive the business forward."
Following this appointment, Wates Construction has announced that it will now initiate the recruitment process for a new UK Operations Director to fill the vacancy left by Mosey's transition.
