Robust UK Introduces Fire-Rated Riser Door

Construction News Image

Robust UK, a leading manufacturer of steel door solutions, has launched its first ever RISER-DOR for concealing service units, introducing a bespoke fire-rated riser door solution.

This 120-minute fire-rated custom-built access panel provides discreet and convenient access to electrical wiring, plumbing and HVAC systems within vertical shafts, without detracting from interior aesthetics. The RISER-DOR enables technicians to carry out inspections, maintenance and repairs on concealed services efficiently.

RISER-DOR is among the few fire-rated riser door solutions available, giving customers more choice in building compliant access systems. Unlike standard access panels, it is fire-rated to E120, containing fire within the shaft for up to two hours to help maintain clear evacuation routes. If a fire starts outside the shaft, the door also prevents flames from entering the shaft, therefore protecting the essential services housed within.

Designed to sit flush within the wall, RISER-DOR features concealed pivot hinges and frame and minimal visible hardware while maintaining full functionality, incorporating a three-point locking system operated with a T-bar key.

The new RISER-DOR from Robust is fully compliant with relevant building regulations and is ideal for multi-storey commercial and residential buildings, such as hotels, offices, hospitals and educational facilities, where reliable and quick access to essential services is important.

Each RISER-DOR is made to order and can be polyester powder-coated as standard, finished in any colour to achieve a modern appearance and seamless blend with the surrounding wall.

Made from Magnelis® steel, RISER-DOR offers superior corrosion resistance and is available from Robust with a warranty of up to 10 years. The material forms a self-healing protective layer on cut edges, significantly enhancing durability and extending the product's lifecycle.
