Construction has begun on a new Housing Plus Group development in Shrewsbury, with 38 affordable homes being built by Living Space as the two organisations embark on a new partnership.
The scheme, located off Cedars Drive, will provide a mix of shared ownership and social rent properties comprising four one-bedroom maisonettes, two two-bedroom bungalows, 13 two-bedroom houses, 17 three-bedroom houses and two four-bedroom houses in both terraced and semi-detached styles.
Features will include air source heat pumps, solar panels and EV charging points, reflecting Housing Plus Group's commitment to sustainability.
Simon Thompson, Director of Development at Housing Plus Group, said: "We are very proud to be working with Living Space to deliver these affordable new homes in Shrewsbury, helping to meet the high demand for housing in the area.
"The mix of homes, for social rent and shared ownership, will provide affordable housing options for both individuals and families to rent or to help them get onto the housing ladder."
While some team members have collaborated previously before The Wrekin Housing Group merged with Housing Plus Group, this is Living Space's first project undertaken directly with Housing Plus Group.
"We are thrilled to have completed our first development agreement with Housing Plus Group," said Paul Breen, Managing Director of Living Space. "This is an exciting milestone for both our companies and, more importantly, for the local families who will benefit from these much-needed homes. We look forward to building a strong, long-term partnership with Housing Plus Group."
