The final project under the Corby Towns Fund programme has moved a step closer to completion following the appointment of a contractor to redevelop Grosvenor House in the town centre.

Krol Corlett has started refurbishment works on the site with construction expected to take approximately nine months.

The redevelopment of Grosvenor House is one of four projects awarded funding by central government to North Northamptonshire Council in June 2021. The scheme forms part of wider efforts to regenerate Corby town centre and boost economic activity.

Once complete, the building will provide a multi-use facility designed to support cultural, community and creative activities. Plans include space for media and third sector organisations, with the aim of addressing local demand while encouraging increased footfall in the town centre.

Located on George Street, the project is intended to deliver a modern, flexible space that supports both community use and local businesses.

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has extended the deadline for spending the allocated funding from March 2026 to March 2028, following a review. The funding remains ringfenced for the Grosvenor House project and cannot be redirected to other schemes.

Alongside construction, North Northamptonshire Council is continuing to explore options for the future operation of the building and is working to identify organisations to manage and deliver services from the site once completed.
