Kier Names Alexandra Smith National Frameworks Director

Kier has appointed Alexandra Smith as National Frameworks Director for its construction business, succeeding Deane Hudson, who is retiring after a 39-year career with the company.

Smith joined Kier Construction two years ago as senior business development manager for the London & Thames Valley business, where she led the public sector pipeline and strengthened framework relationships with customers, consultants and partners. In her new role, she will steer Kier's national frameworks strategy and the division’s long-term growth in the public sector. Frameworks are central to Kier Construction’s delivery model, supporting strong partnerships and providing consistent value and certainty for public sector clients.

Smith said: "Frameworks are vitally important to us at Kier and they are fundamental to providing value for the public purse, and I'm focused on continuing to strengthen those relationships, ensuring a sustainable pipeline of opportunities for the Group. It's a privilege to follow in Deane's footsteps, and I look forward to working closely with him during our handover. It's been a pleasure to work alongside the outstanding team in London and the Thames Valley over the last two years, and I look forward to supporting them in a different capacity as part of this new role."

With Smith moving roles, Kier Construction is recruiting a new senior business development manager in the London & Thames Valley business.

Rebecca Boundy, managing director, clients & markets for Kier Construction, said: "Deane will leave a remarkable legacy both within our business and across the industry at large – we all wish him a happy retirement. At Kier we are committed to retaining and developing talent, so it's wonderful that Alexandra will be occupying this critical role on our team. This will be a huge asset to the continued growth of the business and she leads on driving customer relationships, business development, and commercial governance in this space."
