Patchworks Development In Walthamstow Reaches Topping-Out Milestone

Vistry has marked a major construction milestone at its 583-home Patchworks development in Walthamstow, with the scheme reaching its highest point.

The topping-out ceremony recently took place, with Vistry joined by partners Newlon Housing Trust, Sigma Capital Group and Waltham Forest Council. The milestone was marked by the completion of the 18-storey Block F, with a ceremonial trowel presented to Newlon and Sigma.

Built on the site of a former Homebase store on Forest Road, the Patchworks scheme will deliver 583 mixed-tenure homes. Of these, 228 will be affordable homes managed by Newlon, including London Affordable Rent and shared ownership properties. The remaining 355 homes will form part of a build-to-rent development delivered in partnership with Sigma's Simple Life London brand.

The project also includes new commercial and co-working spaces, alongside landscaped green areas and play facilities. Environmental upgrades are planned for Forest Road, including the planting of 80 trees and the introduction of new pedestrian routes to improve connectivity.

Kevin Delve, Managing Director of Vistry East London, said: "This is an important milestone for the delivery of a fantastic new scheme for Walthamstow, helping to meet the chronic need for high-quality new homes in the mix of tenures that local residents need. We are very pleased to be working in partnership with Sigma, Newlon with support from Waltham Forest Council to celebrate this swift progress on what will become a vibrant new neighbourhood for local people."
