WSP Secures Key Role In Northern Powergrid Engineering Framework

WSP has been appointed to Northern Powergrid's Professional Engineering Services (PES) Framework, marking a major step in supporting the delivery of critical engineering services across a network serving around 8 million people in the North East, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.

Announced on 26 March 2026 in the United Kingdom, the multi-lot framework gives Northern Powergrid access to specialist engineering expertise to maintain, upgrade and future-proof its electricity distribution infrastructure. Under the agreement, WSP will contribute across key areas including design, planning, engineering and commissioning, helping ensure the safe, reliable and resilient operation of the region's power network.

The appointment is seen as a significant milestone for WSP's Energy business, highlighting the strength of its engineering capabilities. The firm will draw on its multidisciplinary expertise in system studies and planning, asset management, digital engineering, and project delivery to support Northern Powergrid’s long-term investment and customer strategies.
