Galliford Try's Building division has been selected by Clarion Housing Group to deliver 126 new homes for social rent at the City Place site in Chester.

The £28 million contract is the first standalone scheme to be undertaken by Galliford Try since re-entering the affordable homes sector.

Situated beside the Shropshire Union Canal and the Grade II-listed Chester Shot Tower, the project will provide 23 one-bedroom and 103 two-bedroom apartments to help meet acute local housing need.

Part of the wider City Place masterplan, the development will be fully fossil-fuel-free, with all homes targeting a minimum EPC B rating and 100% EV charging provision.
