GRAHAM has been named as a key delivery partner on National Highways' £968 million Legacy Concrete Roads Reconstruction (LCRR) framework.
The appointment places the firm on one of the United Kingdom's most significant highways initiatives, focused on the long-term renewal of the Strategic Road Network (SRN) in England.
The framework, which commenced in February, is scheduled to run for six years. GRAHAM is one of only three contractors selected to oversee the reconstruction of legacy concrete roads, which currently make up roughly five per cent of the SRN. The programme is a major investment designed to improve the resilience, safety, and performance of these vital national transport assets.
The scope of the framework covers full design and construction services. This includes the demolition of existing road surfaces and complete pavement reconstruction, as well as the management of temporary traffic solutions. GRAHAM will act as both principal designer and principal contractor throughout the term.
A central component of the work involves environmental responsibility, with GRAHAM leading on carbon capture recording and reporting. The firm will focus on the recovery, recycling, and reuse of materials to support the circular economy and ensure a reduced carbon footprint for each project. This appointment follows GRAHAM's previous work with National Highways, including the Lot 2 framework for the South East and East of England.
