A new 264-home development has reached completion in Fulham, delivered through a partnership between Peabody and London specialist developer Mount Anvil.

Known as Chelsea Botanica, the project was supported by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Hammersmith and Fulham Council.

The scheme makes a significant contribution to the capital's housing targets, with half of the new properties designated as affordable. This includes 50 Shared Ownership homes aimed at first-time buyers and 83 homes for London Affordable Rent, which have been allocated to households on the local council's waiting list.

Located near the Thames Path and Imperial Park, the development prioritises resident wellbeing and biodiversity. The gardens were designed in collaboration with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, to support local wildlife and provide communal spaces for residents. Furthermore, young people from the Hammersmith and Fulham area contributed to the green spaces through a partnership programme.

Sustainability is a core feature of the build, which utilises low-carbon technology such as air source heat pumps, solar panels, and enhanced insulation to improve energy efficiency.

Tom Copley, Deputy Mayor of London for Housing and Residential Development, said: "I am delighted that City Hall funding was able to help support the completion of nearly 300 new homes in Fulham, providing much needed new affordable housing in the borough.

"With a significant number of these properties available at London affordable rent levels, as well as Shared Ownership homes, this is good news for local families and the wider community as we continue to work to build a fairer, more prosperous London for everyone."
