McGoff Group Takes Over £40m Residential Project in Glossop

The Altrincham-based McGoff Group has stepped in to complete a £40 million residential scheme in Glossop, Derbyshire. Following a comprehensive review and overhaul of the project, the development is now progressing under the management of the £150 million construction collective.

Located on Glossop Road, the development—to be known as Etherow Grange—will feature 156 high-specification homes. The mix includes two, three, and four-bedroom properties, with 40 of the homes designated as affordable housing.

McGoff Construction's Housing Division is serving as the principal contractor, delivering the site under the group's Villafont Homes brand. The project will utilise internal group expertise, including light gauge steel framing from Panacea Building Systems and electrical services from Edencroft. The design focus for the scheme combines a high-quality external aesthetic with interior layouts intended to enhance the local residential landscape.

Paul Danks, Sales Director at Villafont, commented: "The new plans for Etherow Grange are superb and we are delighted to now be taking this scheme forward. Long established and highly regarded, the McGoff Group has a proven ability to deliver. This means that local homebuyers can now reserve with confidence – and excitement – safe in the knowledge that their new home will be completed on schedule and they will be thrilled with the outcome."

Local estate agents Gascoigne Halman have been appointed to manage sales for the development. Michael Thompson, Land and New Homes Director at Gascoigne Halman, added: "Now in the hands of the McGoff Group, we are confident that Etherow Grange will be very well received by homebuyers looking to secure an aspirational yet relaxed semi-rural lifestyle within easy reach of the picturesque hills and moorland of Derbyshire's Dark Peak and also Glossop town centre."

Construction has recently started on-site, with the first three and four-bedroom homes released for sale starting at £345,000. A show home is scheduled to open in Spring 2026, with the initial phase of properties expected to reach completion by Summer 2026.
