Bidwells has announced a significant expansion of its Energy and Climate division through several high-level appointments across the UK.

This growth includes the introduction of a new service line specifically focused on behind-the-meter renewables, designed to provide enhanced support for investors, developers, occupiers, and landowners.

Edoardo Ruggeri has been appointed as an Associate within the Energy and Renewables team to head the newly established Behind-the-Meter Renewables service. This department will cater to portfolios, operations, and buildings with diverse energy requirements.

Ruggeri joins the firm from CBRE UK and possesses a PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge. His background includes delivering renewable energy strategies for industrial, logistics, and commercial clients, as well as institutional investors. Operating from Cambridge, he will provide guidance on private wire renewable strategies and futureproofing technologies, such as electric vehicle (EV) chargers and battery storage.

Expanding Expertise in Scotland

The firm is also strengthening its presence in Scotland with two key appointments. Helen Gray joins as a Partner in Energy and Renewables, moving from the Danish renewable energy company Ørsted, where she served as senior land and property manager. Her role will cover the entire development lifecycle, including site strategy, viability, and land assembly.

Additionally, Ross McLaren has joined the Scottish team as an Associate. Coming from the international developer Boralex, McLaren brings developer-side insight into the commercial aspects of renewable projects, including the growing area of repowering.
