HG Construction has reached the topping-out milestone on a new purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) development for Fusion in Birmingham. The 622-bed Bristol Road scheme comprises four blocks ranging from eight to 17 storeys, signalling structural completion on the contractor's debut project in the city and underscoring its growing partnership with the developer.

Designed around wellbeing and amenity-led living, the development will provide a basketball court, a two-storey gym, a yoga studio, wellness spaces and landscaped outdoor areas. The specification reflects the sector-wide shift towards high-quality, service-rich PBSA in major university locations.

The project contributes additional bed spaces in a high-demand market and highlights continued investment across the UK PBSA sector. With the frame now complete, focus will turn to fit-out and commissioning, creating opportunities for the regional supply chain as the scheme progresses towards handover.
