Kier has appointed Tracey Collins as its sustainability director, giving her overall responsibility for the group's drive to operate as a sustainable, responsible business.

Her remit covers delivery of Kier's environmental and social targets set out in its Building for a Sustainable World framework, building on the company's performance in carbon reduction and its Moving through May campaign, which links employee engagement and wellbeing with social impact in communities across the UK.

Collins has spent 15 years at Kier, most recently in leadership roles overseeing emerging talent, social sustainability and diversity & inclusion.

During this period, Kier has been recognised as a Disability Confident Employer by the UK Government, facilitated more than 40 jobs and release on temporary licence opportunities for prison leavers last year through its Making Ground programme, and expanded its employee networks promoting inclusivity to more than 1,200 members. The group has also been named a Top 100 Apprentice employer and awarded Platinum membership of The 5% Club after the proportion of employees in learning programmes rose to over 11%.

Ben Stone will continue as group head of environment, with Verity Magee leading social value.
