Persimmon Homes West Wales has handed over a further tranche of affordable housing at Parc Llanilid, transferring 12 one-bedroom apartments at Michaels Grove to Hafod for social rent. The development sits between Pencoed and Pontyclun.
The latest handover takes Hafod's total number of homes at Michaels Grove to 22. Persimmon has also completed 21 sales via Rhondda Cynon Taf Council's Homebuy Scheme, which reserves properties at a discounted market price for local residents.
As a major social housing provider in south Wales, Hafod says it is committed to delivering affordable, high-quality homes designed to support people's lives now and in the future.
Close to the M4, Parc Llanilid offers good access to local amenities and is expected to comprise more than 1,700 homes once fully built out.
Work started on the brownfield site in 2019. Longer-term plans include a new primary school and a village centre with leisure, retail and community facilities.
Persimmon currently has two, three and four-bedroom homes for sale at its Parc Llanilid outlets, Michaels Grove and Morgans Walk, with prices starting from £219,995.
Ryan Greaney, Land & Planning Director of Persimmon Homes West Wales, said: "We're really pleased to be handing over the latest package of housing association properties to Hafod, who already have a significant presence on our Llanilid sites.
"Persimmon, and housebuilders in general, are an excellent vehicle for delivering social homes across Wales and our collaboration with housing associations in Llanilid is evidence of how this works well for local people.
"We will continue to work with partners to deliver this community good as a means to tackling the housing crisis as we proudly build new homes in South Wales, including here in Llanilid."
Nicola Meredith, Project Manager at Hafod, said: "These new homes at Michaels Grove are helping to provide much needed social housing for local people. At Hafod, we're committed to investing for a better future, supporting communities to thrive and playing our part in addressing the housing crisis in Wales.
"We're delighted to have taken handover of 12 more high-quality homes in Parc Llanilid. By working with partners like Persimmon, we are delivering homes and communities where people are proud to live."
