Willmott Dixon has been appointed to deliver a £14m net-zero carbon Crewe Deployment Base for Cheshire Constabulary, extending the company’s portfolio of blue-light projects.

Designed by Corstorphine & Wright and procured through Procurement Hub, the new hub will bring multiple departments together under one roof. Some 300 staff will be based there, with the facility operating 24/7 all year to improve coverage across the local policing area as well as access to the strategic road network and Crewe town centre.

Construction has begun following a groundbreaking event hosted by Willmott Dixon and attended by Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner Dan Price, who is responsible for the police estate, and Connor Naismith, MP for Crewe and Nantwich.

In line with the Police and Crime Plan's sustainability goals, the building will be Net Zero Carbon in Operation (NZCIO). A fabric-first approach will be supported by permeable paving, rainwater harvesting and a green wall.

The project, due to complete in early 2027, represents a significant investment in policing across Cheshire.
